What Makes Kengan Ashura popular?

The story took place when power and money were determined by real spotlights (not like the games we know today).

One day, a man who calls himself 'Hirose Gorou' announces that he wants to dip his toes in the world of martial arts. He challenges everyone in the kengan association to fight him, but no one responds because no one thinks he is worthy of fighting with them. Hirose then proclaims that he will beat them individually if they don't take his challenge. This shocks everyone, and a group of representatives starts fighting him one by one in a succession of battles to test his abilities.

After they are all defeated, the members come together and decide that Hirose should join their association because no one from their school can beat him. Hirose joins the kengan association and becomes one of the top fighters.

One thing that may contribute to kengan Ashura's popularity is how relatable it can be to its audience. Ryouma's experiences and struggles could be seen as a reflection of the reader's own, allowing them to understand better what they're going through and feel less alone in those struggles. This is one of the greatest strengths of kengan Ashura as it allows for a better connection with the characters and story.
